Raising a flag is a ritual built on repetition. The boundaries are fluid between ritual and habit, symbolic meaning and conformist affirmation. Repetition engenders a sense of security and provides a fixed point of reference. In Greenland, the Danish Dannebrog has been hoisted many times. Is it any different when the flag is part of an art project?
